Usually, it is carried out especially for two purposes, to assess the student's learning reports in different areas and to improve and support their classroom teaching and learning. In schools commonly two types of assessments are conducted, the Authentic assessment and Holistic assessment.

Authentic one is related to reading, writing and different types of literacy abilities of students in context to real world. This technique is used to assess, how they use their skills in closely realistic situations like reading texts, writing meaningful content, discussing books etc. On the other hand, Holistic assessment is applied where learning objectives are complicated and inter-related, which are measured against the standards established by the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF). This assessment method is more relevant to social work practices where students need to demonstrate the integration of learning aspects. However, the assessment of learning outcomes is tricky as no one is efficient enough to evaluate students' learning expertise. Holistic assessment can be categorized into six, the constructive alignment, peer assessment, reflection and reflective journals, group presentations, self assessment and report writing.
